WeKnowSomebody (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at weknowsomebody.online, a local service directory connecting South Central Kentucky homeowners with area contractors. WeKnowSomebody is a DBA of TEG Digital LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Information You Give Us Directly
We collect information you enter into forms on this site. There are two kinds:
Homeowner service requests
When you request help finding a contractor, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the type of work you need done, and any project details you choose to describe. We collect this so we can match your request to contractors in our network and so those contractors can contact you about the job.
Contractor applications
When you apply to join the directory as a service professional, we collect your name, business name, contact information, trade category, service area, and any licensing or business details you provide. We use this to review your application and, if approved, to list your business publicly in the directory.
Approved contractor listings are public. Business name, trade, service area, and business contact information appear on the site where homeowners can see them. Do not submit information in your listing that you do not want displayed publicly.
How We Share Homeowner Information
This is the most important section of this policy, so we will be plain about it.
When you submit a service request, we share your contact information and project details with one or more contractors in our network who work in your area and trade. That is the entire purpose of the service. Once a contractor receives your information, their own handling of it is governed by their practices, not ours. We are not responsible for how an individual contractor stores or uses your information after we pass it along.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertising networks.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, we collect limited technical information automatically when you visit, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this data on Google’s servers under Google’s own privacy terms. We retain homeowner service requests for as long as needed to fulfill the request and maintain business records, and contractor listing information for as long as the listing is active plus a reasonable period afterward. You may ask us to delete your information sooner using the contact details below.
Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us at any time to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct information that is wrong, ask us to delete your information, or ask us to stop contacting you. We will respond to reasonable requests.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. If you believe you have such rights, contact us and we will work with you in good faith.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site and store submitted information in a database protected by access controls that restrict who and what can read it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
This site is intended for adults arranging home services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
